PHYSICS
Associate of Science Degree

The Associate of Science in Physics is intended to match, within the constraints of the Core Curriculum, the course of study for the first two years in a typical university physics program.

To receive an Associate of Science in Physics, students must: (a) make a minimum grade of "C" in all required math and science courses and (b) have an overall GPA of 2.0 or greater.

1 Students should consult with a Mathematics faculty advisor since one or more mathematics courses may be required before enrolling in MATH 2413.
2 Select from Humanities/Fine Arts in the Core Curriculum Course List.
3 Or any ENGL course which will satisfy the legislative requirement; consult an English faculty advisor.
4 Or any HIST course which will satisfy the legislative requirement; consult a History faculty advisor.
5 Select any Speech course from Communications in the Core Curriculum Course List.
6 Students lacking one full year of (recent) high school physics should take PHYS 1401/1402 or PHY 1653 before enrolling in PHYS 2425. All students must complete MATH 2413 before enrolling in PHYS 2425.
7 Select from Visual and Performing Arts in the Core Curriculum Course List.
8 Credit for PHYS 2425 and credit for MATH 2414 are strictly required prerequisites for PHYS 2426.
9 Select from Other Social and Behavioral Sciences in the Core Curriculum Course List.
